For recognition, information retrieved by recognizing the right answer from what has been seen before. 

For recall, information retrieved by a few cues. 

The main difference between recognition and recall is that the amount of cue that helps to retrieve information.  Recognition involves much more cure than recall. 

So that recall is harder than recognition.
