What is the difference between qualitative and quantitive data?

Qualitative data is data that cannot be measured numerically.

For example:

  • How hungry you are
  • The color of the sky

 

Quantitative is data that can be measured numerically.

For example:

  • The number of goals scored in a hockey game
  • Your age
